Sir Richard Branson and
Jamie Oliver team up at a fundraising Summit at Jamie’s Fifteen London
restaurant where Sir Richard announced the winner of his Virgin Unite
global ‘Screw Business As Usual’ competition.
Sir Richard and Jamie invited guests to attend the Screw Business As
Usual Summit to raise awareness for their foundations, Virgin Unite and
the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation. All the money raised from ticket sales
will go directly back into the continued support of the charities.
Virgin Unite is helping to create jobs and opportunities around the
world and is also challenging social and environmental problems in an
entrepreneurial way.
The event also featured the announcement of Sir Richard’s global Screw
Business As Usual competition winner. The contest has encouraged and
enabled people from all over the world to share their ideas on how they
could, or are, ‘Screwing Business As Usual’. The winner, Raise 5 http://raise5.com/,
will join Sir Richard on a once in a lifetime Connection Trip to South
Africa with Virgin Unite, where they will get to share ideas with young
entrepreneurs at the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship and experience
the beautiful wildlife of South Africa at UIusaba, Sir Richard’s private
game reserve.
Sir Richard said: “When I first thought about writing Screw Business as
Usual, I never imagined the level of positive response it would
generate. The sheer number of incredible ideas submitted to the
competition has been truly overwhelming. Raise5 is a deserving winner
and a great example of how people are helping to truly screw business as
usual to create a better world.”
