Commercial Printer Proud to Support Their Colleagues

Graphics and Print, based in Telford, Shropshire, have been providing commercial printing services for over 30 years and have seen business grow year on year for the last five years, since new Managing Director Martin Kells took over. It would be easy in the current economic climate to just focus on the company and how to make more profit but as Martin explains, businesses which aspire to succeed in the long term, need to balance their focus across what he calls ‘The 4Cs’.

“Commercial printing like lots of industries is having a tough time but we credit our recent success to the fact that we have never just looked at the company and its profitability in isolation. You need a balance across the ‘4Cs’ of Customer, Community, Colleagues and Company to succeed long term in business. We’ve done a lot of work already this year to support our customers and the community which we serve but this month we have further demonstrated the passion we place behind supporting and developing our colleagues, with the announcement that we have agreed to support Jodie Bayliss, the newest member of our design studio, to undertake a 3 year BA Honours in Graphic Design.

"We take every opportunity we can to help our colleagues grow as individuals and having spotted Jodie’s talent from a very early stage, we are proud to support her to undertake this huge step in her career. Jodie left college having undertaken a BTEC Diploma in Fashion Design and spent time at Graphics and Print helping out in their Finishing Team on an ad-hoc basis.

"She quickly demonstrated a flair for the design side of the business and was offered a permanent position as a Graphic Designer earlier this year, where she benefits from working with both an experienced team and award winning designers in our design studio. It really is fantastic to see colleagues within the company moving onwards and upwards and we are only too pleased to have offered her support in funding the diploma. She is a real talent and we are all delighted for her.”

Graphics and Print have been shortlisted for the Excel Award at the forthcoming Heart of England Fine Foods Diamond Awards and part of the reason for this was because of the company ethos of not just focussing on the company and profitability. The Graphics and Print approach to ‘The 4Cs’ (customers, colleagues, community and the company) is another demonstration of how this award winning commercial printer provides a really refreshing change to other print manufacturers.

Graphics and Print provide an end-to-end service when it comes to commercial printing services, having a design studio, print operators and finishing team all under one roof, making the customer print journey a seamless one!
